Mount Olive, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 match to Francis Marion University on Saturday afternoon at the John Walker Tennis Center in Mount Olive, N.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • The Trojans opened the match with a 2-1 lead after capturing a pair of doubles victories.
  • At No. 1 doubles, sophomores Ogulcan Deniz and Martin Moser edged the Patriots for an 8-5 win.
  • Junior Sherzod Akramov and sophomore Jacob Clarke captured an 8-4 victory at No. 3 doubles to give the Trojans the advantage heading into singles action.
  • In singles play, the Trojans' lone victory came at No. 3 as senior Martim Sousa topped FMU's Raul Madrid, 6-1, 6-1.
  • The Trojans narrowly missed flipping the match in their favor as Moser and freshman Jack Middleton each went to three sets before falling to their Patriot counterparts.
