Tigerville, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team swept the opening weekend of Conference Carolinas action as the Trojans defeated Southern Wesleyan, 8-1, before capturing a 6-3 victory over North Greenville University in Central, S.C. and Tigerville, S.C.

MATCH ONE
- In doubles play, the Trojans grabbed a 2-1 lead after Jose Cortijos and Martim Sousa earned an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles and Ogulcan Deniz and Martin Moser grabbed a 9-8 win at No. 2 doubles.
- UMO ran away from the Warriors in singles action as Jack Middleton earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles, Moser picked up a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles, and Deniz captured a 6-3, 6-4 triumph at No. 1 singles to win the match for Mount Olive.
- Sherzod Akramov, Sousa, and Cortijos added to the effort with wins at No. 6, No. 4, and No. 2 singles to provide the Trojans with the 8-1 match victory.
MATCH TWO
- The Trojans opened the match with a pair of victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to hold a 2-1 advantage after doubles play.
- UMO continued its strong play, as the Trojans captured four victories over North Greenville in six opportunities in singles action.
- Mount Olive secured the 6-3 match victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.

The Trojans return to action on Tuesday as UMO travels to Misenheimer, N.C. to battle Pfeiffer University at 2 p.m. in a Conference Carolinas match.
