Hilton Head, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team continued its strong spring with an 8-1 victory over Edinboro University in non-conference action in Hilton Head, S.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • UMO opened up the match with a 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles play.
  • Sophomore Jose Cortijos and senior Martim Sousa and sophomore Jacob Clarke and freshman Juan Arbelaez captured 8-4 victories at No. 1 and 3 doubles, respectively.
  • The Trojans completed the doubles sweep with a narrow 9-7 win at No. 2 doubles by sophomores Ogulcan Deniz and Martin Moser.
  • In singles action, UMO took victories at No. 1 through 5 singles with the Trojans lone loss coming at No. 6.
  • Edinboro pushed Mount Olive to the limit in No. 1, 2, and 3 singles as all three matchups went to three sets before the Trojans were able to pull away.
