Trojans' Conference Win-Streak Snapped In 5-4 Loss At Limestone

Gaffney, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team saw its Conference Carolinas win-streak end at five with a 5-4 loss to Limestone College on Friday evening in Gaffney, S.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • The Saints jumped out to a 2-1 advantage after doubles action as UMO was able to get a win at No. 2 doubles as sophomores Ogulcan Deniz and Martin Moser captured an 8-5 win. 
  • Sophomore Jacob Clarke and freshman Juan Arbelaez narrowly turned the match in UMO's favor as the duo dropped their matchup at No. 3 doubles, 8-7.
  • UMO split singles competition with the Saints as the Trojans earned victories at No. 3, 5, and 6.
  • Moser continued his strong spring with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles, while freshman Jack Middleton and Clarke outlasted their opponents at No. 5 and 6 singles in 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7) and 6-7, 7-6, 1-0 (12-10) victories, respectively.
  • Despite the Trojans' split in singles, Limestone earned the match victory, 5-4, over UMO.
