Mount Olive, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team earned a hard-fought victory over King University, 5-4, in Conference Carolinas action on Sunday afternoon in Mount Olive, N.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
- UMO opened the match by taking two of three doubles matchups from the Tornado.
- Sophomore Jose Cortijos and senior Martim Sousa earned an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles and sophomores Ogulcan Deniz and Martin Moser pushed past their opponents at No. 2 doubles, 8-4.
- King continued to challenge the Trojans in singles action as Mount Olive barely squeaked out the victory with a 3-3 split in singles.
- Cortijos captured a 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 comeback win at No. 2 singles while Sousa glided past his opponent at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
- Freshman Jack Middleton rounded out the Trojans' single wins with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 triumph at No. 5 singles.
