Sumter, S.C. – In its 2017 Conference Carolinas Tournament opener, the top-seeded University of Mount Olive men's tennis team glided past eighth-seeded Pfeiffer University, 5-0, at the Sumter Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
- UMO opened the match by sweeping doubles action.
- Sophomore Jose Cortijos and senior Martim Sousa earned an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles and the sophomore duo of Ogulcan Deniz and Martin Moser soared past their Falcon opponent at No. 2 doubles, 8-2
- Also earning a doubles win, freshman Jack Middleton and sophomore Juan Arbelaez captured an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
- The Trojans earned the match sweep with victories at No. 1 and No. 5 singles.
- Deniz grabbed a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles, while Middleton sped past his opponent at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-0.
