Fayetteville, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team had a successful showing at the Methodist University Fall Invitational with all singles and doubles placing in the tournament in Fayetteville, N.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS (MEN)
- The Trojans owned singles competition claiming eight championships and two runners-up.
- Jose Cortijos Planas took home a second place finish in the No. 1 singles spot falling to Barton's, Julian Bosch.
- At No. 2 singles, Armando Ferreira topped teammate Martin Moser in the championship match.
- No. 3 singles was won by sophomore Jack Middleton, while senior Sherzod Akramov took the title at No. 4 singles.
- Junior Jacob Clarke and junior Pablo Safont Ferrer took victories at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.
- Flavio Carretero Garbati took the title in No. 7 singles while Alex Meseguer Carce won the No. 8 singles.
- Juan Arbelaez wrapped up the singles for the Trojans with a championship in the No. 9 singles flight.
- In doubles play, the Trojans captured championships in the second, third and fourth flights.
- Cortijos Planas and Moser paired up for a third place finish in the No. 1 doubles flight.
- Ferreira and Middleton also played in the No. 1 doubles flight and finished seventh.
- Arbelaez and Safont Ferrer earned the championship title of the No. 2 doubles flight, while Akramov and Carretero Garbati to the No. 3 flight title.
- Rounding out the doubles competition, Clarke and Meseguer Carce claimed the No. 4 flight title.
- Overall, Mount Olive was 39-4 in competition in the tournament.
COACHES COMMENTS
- "We are pleased with the men's effort this weekend," said head coach Kevin Coghill. "Methodist runs an awesome tournament which allows us to play much-needed matches to get better this fall. Every Trojan played well, each bringing home trophies. The greater award is the experience and team bonding which will help us in future tournaments and matches."
