MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team fell to West Virginia Wesleyan 5-4 on Sunday afternoon at the John Neal Walker Tennis Courts in Mount Olive, N.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • Due to forecasted weather, the match started with the singles sets and then went on to the doubles round.
  • Mount Olive took two of the six singles sets as they entered doubles trailing 4-2 to West Virginia Wesleyan.
  • Armando Ferreira won the first match of the day taking the No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1 over the No. 1 Bobcats player.
  • Martin Moser scored the other singles point for the Trojans winning the No. 3 singles set 6-3, 6-0.
  • The Trojans took two of the three doubles games falling just shy of winning the match.
  • Pablo Safont Ferrer and Juan Arbelaez took the first doubles point winning the No. 3 match 8-6.
  • Ferreira and Jack Middleton took the No. 1 doubles point by winning 8-5 against the No. 1 Bobcats duo.
