YOUNG HARRIS, GA. - The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team defeated the 22nd-ranked Mountain Lions of Young Harris College 5-4 in a close contest on Friday afternoon in non-conference action in Young Harris, Ga.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
- The Trojans emerged from the doubles round leading 2-1 over the Mountain Lions.
- UMO took an early lead as Pablo Safont Ferrer & Juan Arbelaez, the No. 3 doubles pair, defeated YHC's No. 3 pair 8-3.
- The Mountain Lions tied the score at one game each after they defeated Jack Middleton & Armando Ferreira, 8-5 in the No. 1 doubles flight.
- Martin Moser & Jose Cortijos Planas took the 2-1 advantage for Mount Olive winning doubles flight No. 2, 8-5.
- After falling in the doubles round, Ferreira fell to the No. 1 player from Young Harris in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, tying the match score at two apiece.
- The Mountain Lions took the 3-2 match lead as Cortijos Planas fell 6-1, 6-4, in the No. 3 singles flight.
- Moser tied the match score at three all winning 6-3, 7-5, over the YHC No. 2 player.
- Safont Ferrer gave the Trojans a 4-3 match lead winning 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 5 position, while Sherzod Akramov secured the match win for Mount Olive winning 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 6 position.
- Jack Middleton fell to the 64th-ranked national player on court four, falling 6-4, 6-2.
