No. 27 Trojans Fall 5-4 To No. 50 North Georgia

YOUNG HARRIS, GA. - The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team fell to the 50th-ranked Nighthawks of the University of North Georgia 5-4 in a close contest on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action in Young Harris, Ga.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • The Trojans exited the doubles games with the 3-0 lead as all three pairs defeated their Nighthawk opponents.
  • Martin Moser & Jose Cortijos Planas were the first pair to gain a win taking the 8-2 victory at flight No. 2.
  • Pablo Safont Ferrer & Juan Arbelaez, the No. 3 doubles pair, picked up the second doubles point winning 8-6 in their flight.
  • Jack Middleton & Armando Ferreira got back to their winning ways defeating the No. 1 doubles pair of UNG 9-7.
  • The Nighthawks came back in the singles round taking five of the six games to win the match 5-4.
  • Moser gave the Trojans a 4-1 match lead in the second singles game to finish, as he picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 2 singles position.
  • UNG rallied in the final four singles matches to take the victory from UMO.
