Mount Olive Men's Tennis Win 6-3 Over North Greenville

TIGERVILLE, S.C. - The University of Mount Olive men's tennis team defeated the Crusaders of North Greenville University 6-3 on Sunday afternoon in Conference Carolinas action at the Vance Tennis Complex in Tigerville, S.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • UMO trailed the Crusaders 2-1 after the doubles round as only Jack Middleton & Armando Ferreira won their doubles match, 8-3, at the No. 1 doubles flight.
  • As the competition continued on into the singles flights, Mount Olive came back taking five of the six singles games to win the match 6-3 overall, improving to 13-5 overall and 8-1 in conference competition.
  • The Trojans finished the singles round in the order 2,5,6,4,3,1.
  • Martin Moser got the singles action going with a 6-2, 6-0 win in the No. 2 position tying the match score at two all.
  • Pablo Safont Ferrer fell in the No. 5 spot 6-3, 6-2, giving the Crusaders the 3-2 lead.
  • Sherzod Akramov tied the match up at three-all, following a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 6 flight.
  • Middleton won his singles game 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 4 position, while Jose Cortijos Planas clinched the match for the Trojans winning at singles No. 3, 6-2, 6-3, giving UMO the 5-3 match lead.
  • Ferreira wrapped up the action with a 6-2, 6-4 win downing the No. 1 player for NGU and pushing the Trojans to a 6-3 match win.
