Mount Olive Narrowly Defeats Catawba 4-3 in Men's Tennis Action

SALISBURY, N.C. - Mount Olive men's tennis team swept the doubles play, then took three of six singles matches, resulting in a 4-3 road victory over Catawba in men's tennis action on Thursday afternoon in nonconference at Johnson Tennis Center in Salisbury, N.C.

INSIDE THE RESULTS

  • The Trojans swept all three matches heading into the singles matches with a 1-0 lead. 
  • Armando Ferreira and Milosh Petrovic turned for 7-5 victory at the No.1 doubles, while Martin Moser and Pablo Safont Ferrer took a win with 6-4 at the No. 2 in doubles and Victor Nunez and Gregory Normand rolled in with a 6-4 victory at the No. 3 in doubles.
  • Armando Ferreira No. 1 and Martin Moser No. 2 cruised through their two sets to win each of their singles matches.
  • Ferreira finished 6-3, 7-5, followed by Moser finishing 7-5, 6-1.
  • Safont Ferrer who played in the No. 5 singles position, finished his match in three sets 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.
