Ferreira And Petrovic Make Semifinal Run

SUMTER, South Carolina - Armando Ferreira and Milosh Petrovic of the University of Mount Olive men's tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Southeast Regional Small College/Oracle Championships held in Sumter, S.C.

Tournament Information
After two days of competition, Ferreira and Petrovic found themselves facing the No. 9 seeded duo from Lander University. The UMO pair, who received a No. 3 seed at the beginning of the tournament, won the quarterfinal match 7-5 over Axel Cronje and Adam Elliget. The two Trojans then faced the No. 1 seeded team from Columbus State University in the semifinals and ended up falling 6-2 to the Cougars' Matei Avram and Alvaro Regalado ending the Trojans run in the tournament.

Coaches Comments
"I am extremely proud of Armando and Milosh," said head coach Kevin Coghill. "The two have gotten better and better every day they play together and it showed this weekend! Their run to the semifinals was the best performance from any doubles team that I've coached at this particular tournament. I look forward to seeing what they can achieve once we begin our spring season next year!"
