Trojans Resume Indoor Track And Field Season At UNC Open

Nick Greyno won the men's weight throw, while Alexis McNeil set a school record in the women's 60 meter dash as the University of Mount Olive men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed in the Art and Linda Maillet UNC Open Saturday at Chapel Hill, N.C. The meet was the Trojans' first in more than a month.

Greyno, who set a school record in the weight throw last year, won Saturday by nearly a full meter with a distance of 15.21 meters. He finished first out of 10 competitors, including four from Division I schools. Greyno also finished fifth out of 14 throwers in the shot put.

Austin Steagall finished second out of 19 runners in the mile run. Steagall's time of 4:13.92 is an NCAA II provisional qualifier and the fifth-fastest time in the nation so far this season.

On the women's side, McNeil finished fifth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.83 seconds, beating the previous school record by .01 seconds. She also competed in the 800 meters and the 4x400 relay.

Kanesha Jones finished fifth out of 15 competitors in the triple jump with a distance of 10.56 meters. Jones' distance is the third best in school history.
