Men's Track And Field Finish Strong At Vince Brown Invitational

University of Mount Olive men's track and field team completed competition at the Vince Brown Invitational at Christopher Newport University Saturday and two Trojans broke school records along with one Trojan earning an NCAA provisional qualifying run. 

Guillermo Alcala broke the first school record in the 60m dash. Alcala posted a time of 7.04 seconds breaking the record by five seconds. Cedric Thomas finished just .03 behind Alcala to move in second place all-time. Also in the track events Jonathan Dahlke set a NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the mile run with a time of 4:13.81. The run also moved Dahlke into second place in the all-time record books.

In the field events, Nick Greyno broke his own school record in the shot put. His throw of 14.60m was .43m further than his previous attempt in 2015. Martin Bayles moved into fourth place all-time in the pole vault as he lifted himself to a height of 3.60m. Anthony Edwards, in the triple jump, moved into fifth place all-time with a jump of 13.07m.

Mount Olive will take the week off and compete in the UCS Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C. February 20.
