Trojans Complete Competition At Mt SAC Relays and Campbell Invitational

No. 25 University of Mount Olive men's track and field teams and the women's track and field teams completed duel competitions, including one of the most prestigious meets, the Mt SAC Relays, and the Campbell Invitational this weekend in California and Buies Creek, N.C. respectively. 

In the Mt SAC Relays, Akiharu Kitagawa ran a personal best in the 10000m with a time of 30:30.93. His time beat the NCAA Provisional standard for the second time this season. Kitagawa remains third on UMO All-time list, just one second shy of Dylan Lafond at number two. The Mt Sac Relays, held in California, are the most prestigious track & field meet in the nation. Runners from all levels compete in the fastest distance events of the year. Austin Steagall also completed at the relays. 

At the Campbell invitational, Nick Greyno broke his own school record in two events. In the Shot Put, Greyno had a distance of 14.53m and  in the hammer he set the new school mark with a distance of 49.22m.

Guillermo Matesanz jumped up the UMO all-time list in Long Jump with a distance of 6.86m, moving into 6th all-time. Adam Craig ran the 1500m in 3:54:84, sliding him up to 5th on the UMO all-time list.

Michael Munoz was right behind Craig with a time of 3:58.45, moving him to 6th on UMO all-time list. Cedric Thomas surpassed the old 2009 100m record with a time of 10.86, just 0.05 behind, Guillermo Rendon, who broke the record earlier this season.

On the women's side, Khadijah Carbon threw a personal best in Shot Put with a distance of 10.25m, moving her up to 9th on the all-time list. Ayanna King set a personal best in the 100m with a time of 12.52, good for 4th on the UMO all-time list.

Paulena Kremling and Shona Blades both set personal bests in 800m. Kremling's time of 2:24.68 moved her into 4th UMO all-time, while Blades' time of 2:25.15 moved her into 6th.

Shania Riffle set two personal bests. Her 18.09 time in the 100m Hurdles moved her to 6th on the UMO all-time list. In the high jump, Riffles' 1.55m jump tied the school record.

In the Javelin Danielle Heymach threw 28.75m, springing into 4th on the UMO all-time list. Nicole Poppe was right behind Heymach with a distance of 28.36m, moving her into 5th on the UMO all-time list. 

Mount Olive will compete in the Duke Invitational April 22 in Durham, N.C.
