Adebisi Named Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player Of The Week

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - Mount Olive's Iyanu Adebisi of the men's volleyball team was named the Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of March 4-10 as announced by the league office on Monday morning.

Adebisi led the Trojans in a four-set win over non-conference Lincoln Memorial with 19 kills and 15 digs. The 19 kills were the redshirt sophomore's career-high, while the 15 digs aided in the first double-double for the right side from Ibadan, Nigeria. He also hit an impressive .381 % with his 19 kills and three errors on 42 attack attempts.

Adebisi currently averages 2.20 kills and 2.30 digs per set. His digs per set average ranks fifth in Conference Carolinas. The POW honor is the first of the sophomore's career.

Adebisi and the Trojans return to action this weekend for a pair of road Conference Carolinas contests at Emmanuel and Erskine on Friday and Saturday respectively. The Trojans and Lion will meet at 7 p.m. in the Shaw Athletic Center in Franklin Springs, Ga. on Friday. The Trojans then head up the road to Due West, S.C., where they will take on the Flying Fleet for a 2 p.m. match in the Belk Arena.
