High Point, N.C. - Tai Smith of the University of Mount Olive men's cross country team has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Cross Country Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
Smith finished third in the inaugural Mount Olive Twilight race held on the UMO campus Friday, August 31. Smith completed the four-lap 8K course throughout Mount Olive's campus in 26:39.9 just ahead of six teammates. Mount Olive as a team finished first of four teams competing with 25 total points.
UMO is back at it when the head to Furman University for the Furman Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15, in Greenville. S.C.
