Pittsburgh, Pa. - The University of Mount Olive men's cross country team finished 13th at the NCAA Division II National Championships Saturday morning in Pittsburgh, Pa. Jacob Gonzalez led the pack of Trojans with a 49th place finish.

KEY STATS
- Jacob Gonzalez led the Trojans to a 13th place team finish as he crossed the line 49th with a time of 33:37.4. Gonzalez was the first runner to cross the 700-meter split and was 29th at the 1.7K split. His fastest split was between the 1.7K and 2.8K as he ran a 3:16.9 kilometer.
- Tai Smith was the second Trojan to cross the finish line finishing in 34:01.2 minutes. Smith's two best splits came in the third kilometer (3:24.2) and between the seventh and eighth-kilometers (3:28.8) as he averaged a 2:58.8 time per kilometer.
- Alexandre Durand improved on his 2017 finish of 148 by crossing the line 98th in this years' race. At his fastest, Durand was 85th at the 2.8K split with a time of 3:19.9 while his average time per kilometer was 3:11.9.
- Jereamy Hall, who finished 140th, completed the race 58 spots higher than his 2017 finish of 198th. Hall's fastest split also came during the 2.8k (3:27.1).
NOTABLES
- For the first time in program history, all seven runners finished in the Top-150. The Trojans got close last year as five of the seven finished in the Top-150.
- The 13th place finish is the second-highest in program history for the men's cross country team, who finished 11th last season.
- Four Trojan runners made their nationals debut; Jacob Gonzalez, Christian Duran, Jay Hall, and Jacob Willis.
