Smith Earns Second Conference Carolinas Runner Of The Week Honors

GREENVILLE, South Carolina - The Conference Carolinas office announced this week's Runners of the Week and the University of Mount Olive's Tai Smith earned the honors for the second time this season.

Smith and the Trojans ran as a team in the College Gold Race at the 46th Paul Short Invitational, which consisted mainly of Division I schools. Smith finished 68th of 380 athletes and was the lead Trojan to finish the race.

The senior from Glendale, Ariz., finished with a time of 24:21.4 and collected 65 team points. The Trojans overall finished 32nd of 44 teams competing in the Paul Short College Gold race.

Smith and the Trojans are back in action this week on Oct. 11 when both teams travel west to compete at the Royal XC Challenge hosted by Queens University in Charlotte, NC.
