Trojans Finish Third at NCAA Division II Southeast Regional

WINGATE, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive men's cross country team finished third overall at the 2019 NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by Wingate University in Wingate, NC. The Trojans qualify as a team to compete at Nationals in Sacramento, CA., on Nov. 23. 

MEET INFORMATION
The Trojans stuck to their strategy of running as a group and reamined near the front of the pack of runners throughout the whole race. The top five runners all finished within the top-25 and earned All-Region honors.  See all the results here.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
Jacob Gonzalez led all Trojans with a time of 31:49.4 and finished 11th overall. He was followed by Tai Smith who crossed the line with a time of 31:56.5 claiming 13th. Jacob Willis took 15th place with a 32:07.2 10k finish and was followed by Branson Oduor (17th) and Daniel Francken (19th) with times of 32:12.6 and 32:16.4 respectively. 

Jay Hall and Altan Cornu rounded out the race for the Trojans taking 29th and 59th respectively. Hall finished with a time of 32:53.9, while Cornu ran a 34:09.6.
