Spartanburg, S.C. --- The University of Mount Olive softball team fell to Catawba College, 7-4, to wrap up the Mid-South Classic in Spartanburg, S.C.

GAME RUNDOWN
- Mount Olive struck first in the top of the first as freshman Karen Foley singled up the middle to score sophomore Charlene Thompson and give the Trojans a 1-0 lead.
- Catawba responded in the bottom half of the first, scoring five runs to take a 5-1 advantage over Mount Olive.
- The Trojans scored twice in the top of the third as senior Caitlin Ewers singled up the middle to score sophomore Kelly Huffman for the first run of the third.
- Ewers' RBI single was followed by a triple to right field by sophomore Callie Ferrell that scored Ewers and junior Anna Ingram and cut Catawba's lead to 5-4.
- In the bottom of the sixth inning, Catawba added a pair of runs to its lead, as the Indians moved ahead 7-4.
- UMO went down in order in the top of the seventh in its last chance to extend the game as Catawba captured the 7-4 win.
KEY STATS
- Foley (0-6) was credited with the loss in the circle, as the freshman started, but did not record an out, allowing five runs on five hits.
