GAME ONE

  • UMO scored first in the bottom of the first as junior Anna Ingram flied out to right field scoring freshman Kelsey Hayes and sending sophomore Callie Ferrell home after a Bronco throwing error to put the Trojans ahead 2-0.
  • The Trojans added a run in the bottom of the third as Ferrell crossed home again on another throwing error by Fayetteville State.
  • Mount Olive added a final insurance run in the fifth as Hayes crossed home after junior Kayla Allen reached on a Bronco throwing error as UMO captured the 4-0 victory.

KEY STATS GAME 1

  • In the circle, junior Kylie Ward (W: 6-6) earned the victory, pitching a complete seven-inning shutout, allowing just three hits and striking out four.
  • Senior Caitlin Ewers led the way with two hits for the Trojans, while Ferrell scored a pair of runs, and Ingram recorded the lone RBI.

GAME TWO

  • To open the second game, the Trojans scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the third on a RBI single by Ferrell and a RBI base-hit by Ingram.
