Burlington, N.C. --- The sixth-seeded University of Mount Olive softball team saw its season come to an end in a 9-3 loss to eighth-seeded Lees-McRae College in the 2017 Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament in Burlington, N.C.

GAME RUNDOWN
- Lees-McRae scored first in the top of the third inning to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
- The Bobcats tacked on three more runs in the top of the fourth to push Lees-McRae ahead, 4-0.
- In the top of the sixth, Lees-McRae's lead ballooned to six at 6-0 with two more runs being pushed across.
- UMO got on the board in the bottom half of the sixth, scoring three runs on three RBI doubles to cut Lees-McRae's lead in half at 6-3.
- The Bobcats pushed their lead back to six with three more runs in the top of the seventh as Lees-McRae grabbed the 9-3 win.
KEY STATS
- Juniors Kayla Allen and Kristin Power each led the Trojans with two hits.
- In the circle, freshman Karen Foley (L: 3-10) was credited with the loss, pitching 3.1 innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits and striking out a pair.
