SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The University of Mount Olive softball team dropped both contests on day one of the Mid-South Classic Tournament.

GAME RUNDOWN
- The Trojans gave up two runs in the bottom of the first as one of the Eagles sent a shot of the centerfield fence scoring two.
- A sac fly in the bottom of the second gave Carson Newman the 3-0 lead over Mount Olive.
- The final Eagle run came in the bottom of the fifth as a single up the left side drove in an RBI.
- The Trojans got on the board in the top of the sixth inning as Charlene Thompson scored off of Anna Ingram's groundout.
KEY STATS
- Ingram was credited with a hit and an RBI as she drove in the only Trojan run.
- Thompson scored the Trojans single run and recorded the only other Trojan hit of the game.

GAME RUNDOWN
- Tiffin got on the scoreboard first off the single to right field to take the 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
- The Dragons put another run on the board in the top of the third following a single hit up the middle to score the runner from second.
- The Trojans got their first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth as Heather Childress crossed the plate following a throwing error by the catcher.
- UMO put a second run on the board as Charlene Thompson came home following a single through the left side by Childress to tie the game at two all.
- A run in the top of the seventh put Tiffin up by one, 3-2 and the Trojans could not respond as they hit three quick outs to fall in game two.
KEY STATS
- Childress recorded two hits and a run in three at-bats against the Dragons.
- Thompson also tallied a hit and crossed the plate in the three at-bat game.
