BURLINGTON, N.C. - The No. 7 seeded University of Mount Olive softball team fell to the No. 3 seeded North Greenville University Crusaders in the second round of the 2018 Conference Carolinas Softball Championship Tournament on Friday evening in Burlington, N.C.

GAME RUNDOWN

  • Mount Olive was able to keep North Greenville off the scoreboard for five innings giving up just four hits in the opening five frames.
  • UMO was held scoreless through six innings when NGU got on the scoreboard on a home run to left centerfield giving the Crusaders a 1-0 lead.
  • The Trojans had an opportunity to score in the top of the seventh with runners on second and third but a fielders choice got Anna Ingram, the runner on third, out at home and a Alyssa Pickle hit the final out of the game on a fly out to centerfield as Mount Olive fell 1-0 to the No. 3 North Greenville Crusaders.
