Havens Named Conference Carolinas Player Of The Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Felecity Havens of the University of Mount Olive women's basketball team has been named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week following a 2-0 performance by the Trojans on the week.

Havens scored 84 points on the week with 19 rebounds, three assists, four steals, and three blocks. She made 31 of 52 attempted shots from the field, 7 of 11 from behind the three-point range, and 15 of 18 from the free throw line. Percentage wise Havens shot 59.6% from the field, 63.6% from three land, and 83.3% from the line.

Havens had a record-breaking game as she broke a 22-year-old record of points scored in a game by an individual after putting up 49 points at Francis Marion on Tuesday, Nov. 27. The Trojans narrowly won the game on the road against the Patriots 88-83 due largely to Havens' performance. Along with her 49 points, she had 10 rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block. The senior guard connected on 17 of her 27 shot attempts for a 63% shot percentage and converted 11 of 14 free throw attempts.

Havens followed her strong midweek performance with another breakout game as she put up 35 points in the Conference Carolinas opener against King University on Saturday, December 1, in Mount Olive, N.C. In the contest against the Tornado, Havens went 14-25 from the field, including 3-5 from behind the arch and a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe. The senior from Lorain, Ohio, was a rebound shy of a double-double as she collected nine rebounds. In addition, Havens added one assist, three steals and two blocks in the contest versus King.
