Havens Earns USBWA National Player Of The Week Honors

ST. LOUIS, MO. - Adding to her list of accolades for the week, Felecity Havens of the University of Mount Olive women's basketball team was named the US Basketball Writers Association Women's Division II National Player of the Week.

Havens earned the honor after being named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week for her stellar 84 points on the week. The senior guard averaged 42 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2 steals, and 1.5 blocks. She went 31-of-52 (59.6%) from the field, 7-of-11 (63.6%) from the three-point range, and 15-of-18 (83.3%) from the free throw line.

She broke a 22-year-old record with her 49 points at Francis Marion on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Havens followed her strong midweek performance with another breakout game as she put up 35 points in the Conference Carolinas opener against King University on Saturday, December 1, in Mount Olive, N.C. 

This is the second time in her career that Havens was named the USBWA National Player of the Week. She garnered the honor last season (for the week ending on Feb. 4, 2018)

Havens is the second Southeast Regional athlete to win the National Player of the Week honor this season.
