MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's basketball team fell to the Saints of Limestone College 76-67 in Conference Carolinas action on Wednesday evening at Kornegay Arena in Mount Olive, N.C. Four Trojans scored in double-digits in the loss.

FIRST QUARTER
- Mount Olive got on the scoreboard first as Makayla Nichols connected on a layup 1:20 into the game.
- Nichols basket spurred an 11-4 run by the Trojans throughout the first quarter as UMO held the Saints to a pair of free throws and a single layup.
SECOND QUARTER
- Limestone came out in the second quarter on a 10-0 run through the first four minutes to take a 14-11 lead over Mount Olive.
- A Kelly Post jump shot and free throw knotted the score up at 14 all with four minutes to play before the Saints took off on a 10-4 rally to lead 24-18 at the 1:35 mark.
- The Saints lead grew to eight points, 26-18, following a pair of free throws but four straight points by Felecity Havens, two free throws and a layup, pulled the Trojans within four points heading into halftime down 26-22.
THIRD QUARTER
- Limestone scored first on a three-pointer taking a 29-22 lead as the teams came out of the intermission.
- Mount Olive rallied scoring eight consecutive points taking a one-point, 30-29, lead at the 7:33 mark of the third quarter.
- The Saints retaliated with an 8-4 run that put them ahead by three points 37-34 at the 4:12 mark.
- The Trojans kept within reach of the Saints but trailed 49-40 heading into the final ten minutes of the game.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Mount Olive took the first four points of the fourth quarter to pull within five points of Limestone, 49-44.
- Over the next two minutes, the Saints scored eight points to take a 10-point lead, 57-47, over the Trojans as the clock approached 6:57 remaining.
- UMO again cut the Limestone lead to five following a Havens three and a Kennedi Jones layup that put the score at 57-52, but the Trojans ran out of time as the Saints claimed the nine-point, 76-67 victory.
KEY STATS
- Four UMO athletes reached double points figures in Felecity Havens (16), Jada Bacchus (13), Makayla Nichols (13) and Hope Toliver (10).
- Kelly Post had six assists and five steals in the contest.
- Bacchus led the Trojans with eight rebounds, just two shy of a double-double for the junior guard.
