Havens Picks Up Second Conference Carolinas Player Of The Week Honor

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Felecity Havens of the University of Mount Olive women's basketball team earned her second Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honor, following a 2-0 performance by the Trojans on the week, it announced by the league office Monday morning. Havens becomes the first women's player this season to garner the accolade twice.

Havens scored 53 points on the week with 18 rebounds, two assists, and seven steals through 70-minutes of play time. She made 19 of 45 attempted shots from the field, 5 of 12 from three-point range, and 10 of 12 from the free throw line. Percentage wise Havens shot 42.2% from the field, 41.7% from three land, and 83.3% from the line.

For the second time this season Havens had a record-breaking game. In the home contest against Emmanuel on Jan. 2, Havens scored 27 points to break the individual career points record of 1,593 career points. The senior from Lorain, Ohio, needed just 14 points to take the record from Ni'Ya Styles (Class of 2018) set last season. Havens 27 points helped the Trojans come from behind to defeat the Lions of Emmanuel College and move to 3-1 in conference action. The senior guard then followed with a 26 point game on the road at North Greenville where Mount Olive won 65-49. 

Havens currently averages 24.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.7 steals and one block per game. Her points per game rank first in Conference Carolinas, while her blocks and rebounds per game rank sixth and seventh, respectively.
