GREENVILLE, South Carolina - The Conference Carolinas office announced this week's Players of the Week and the University of Mount Olive's Jada Bacchus earned the honors for the first time this season. She is the first Trojan to win a conference player of the week award.
Bacchus and the Trojans went 2-0 at home last week with wins against Chowan (73-67) and Lees-McRae (70-53).
Bacchus finished Mount Olive's win over Chowan on Jan. 8 with 23 points, five rebounds, and two assists. She then had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds in UMOs 70-53 win over Lees-McRae on Jan. 11. She also had five assists and three steals in the Mount Olive victory. The senior is the leader in both defensive rebounds and free-throw percentage for the Trojans.
The Trojans play Belmont Abbey College next on Wednesday, January 15 at 5:30 p.m. inside Kornegay Arena.
