Women's Golf In Second After Day Two Of Conference Carolinas Championship

HARTWELL, Ga. - The University of Mount Olive women's golf team jumped four spots to sit second after day two of the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women's Golf Championship Monday afternoon in Hartwell, Ga. Mount Olive took 13 strokes off their first-round scorecard and were only five strokes behind the tournament leader on the day rounding out their two-day total 24 shots out of the lead.

Notables

  • Johanna Andersson led the Trojans again on day two with a six-over par performance including birdies on No. 8 and No. 11. The Junior battled back from a four-over front nine to par six out her nine remaining holes to stay in a tie for 7th.
  • Linn Andersson cracked inside the top-10 after missing it in the opening round by shooting a 78 in which the freshman played even golf through her first 8 holes before closing out the front nine with a bogey. 
  • Linn Bergman and Stephanie Rodrigue both ended their second rounds inside the top-15 as both shot 77 finishing t-13 and t-15th respectively.
  • UMO as a team took a combined 310, the fifth-best single round this season, along with their 323 from the first round and moved up four spots to sit second.
