Women's Golf Opens Play At Battle At Old South

BLUFFTON, South Carolina – Senior Linn Bergman carded a one-under-par round to lead Mount Olive to a fifth-place finish after the first round of the Battle @ Old South at the Old South Golf Links on Saturday. Bergman's 71 is a career-low and the Trojans shot a program second-best score in the opening round.
 
Tournament Information
The Trojans, who are coming off a tournament win at Cutter Creek, sit fifth in the field with a 300 team score, the second-best in program history. Mount Olive was three strokes off from tying the program best lowest round set back in 2015-16. UMO placed all golfers inside the top-50.
 
Trojan Leaders
Bergman sits in a tie for second after her 71 in the first round. Lindsey Burton concluded with a 75 to be in a tie for 17th and Johanna Andersson shot a 76 to round out the Trojans in the top-30 as she sits t-21.

Linn Andersson tied for 34th to round out the Trojan team card shooting a 78.
