Women's Lacrosse Remains Unbeaten With 18-3 Win At Erskine

Riann Daziel and Kali Cook-Grisewood scored four goals apiece as University of Mount Olive remained unbeaten with an 18-3 victory over Erskine College in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse Saturday at Due West, S.C. Alanna Bauche recorded five saves in her first collegiate game in goal for the Trojans.

Candace Corkin put Mount Olive (4-0) on the scoreboard 43 seconds into the contest and Daziel scored three of her goals during a 9-0 run to start the game. Alysha Kulka's goal with 3:57 left in the first half pushed the lead to double figures and Cook-Grisewood's goal with 2:16 remaining gave the Trojans a 12-1 halftime lead.

The lead grew to 15-1 before Mackenzie Brown scored a pair of goals less than 90 seconds apart for Erskine (1-2, 1-1). Cook-Grisewood answered with a pair of goals and Corkin scored the game's final goal with 3:23 left in the contest.

Alexa Milus had four assists for the Trojans.

Mount Olive returns to action Wednesday as the Trojans play host to Catawba in a non-conference match-up. Game time is 7 p.m. at Amon Field.
