No. 14 Women's Lacrosse Suffers First Loss Of Season

Nationally 14th-ranked University of Mount Olive suffered its first loss of the season as the Trojans fell to No. 13 Florida Southern College 17-6 in non-conference women's lacrosse Saturday at Lakeland, Fla. The loss snapped the Trojans' nine-game winning streak, dating back to last season.

Claire Wigler scored five goals for the second game in a row for Mount Olive (6-1). Wigler scored all of Mount Olive's first-half goals as the Trojans trailed 14-3 at halftime. Trojan goalkeeper Hannah Knight finished the game with 10 saves.

Florida Southern (2-2) was led by Ashley Robertson with five goals.

The Trojans will stay on campus for Spring Break as Mount Olive has a pair of home contests this week. The Trojans play host to Bloomsburg Wednesday, then entertains nationally 18th-ranked Bentley Sunday.
