No. 17 Mount Olive Defeats Emmanuel 17-3

No. 17 University of Mount Olive defeated Emmanuel College 17-3 Sunday afternoon for Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse in Franklin Springs, Ga. Mount Olive scored 13 goals in the first half.

Candace Corkin put Mount Olive (10-4 Overall, 5-1 Conference Carolinas) on the board with 26:48 to go in the first half. The Trojans pushed across six more goals to give Mount Olive a 7-0 lead. Emmanuel was able to stop the momentum only temporarily with a goal by Haley Larson with 18:37 left in the first half.

Mount Olive went on to tack on six more goals and put the game out of reach and the halftime horn sounded. 

The second half slowed down in offense as the Trojans struck across four more goals to Emmanuel's two. 

Claire Wigler and Alysha Kulka led the Trojan's with four goals apiece. Caitlin Sabadish and Brittany Barron were close behind with two goals apiece. Caity Hamilton helped led the defense as she contributed two caused turnovers and a groundball and one draw control.

Mount Olive returns home to Amon Field Thursday April 14 versus Queens (N.C.). Game time is set for 4 p.m.
