No. 20 Mount Olive Women's Lacrosse Tops Lees-McRae 22-0

No. 20 University of Mount Olive took down Lees-McRae College 22-0 in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse Saturday afternoon at Amon Field. Riann Daziel, Claire Wigler, and Alysha Kulka all broke single game records.

Mount Olive (12-5 Overall, 7-1 Conference Carolinas) took the lead from the start and never looked back as the Trojans took a 15-0 lead into halftime. 

The Trojans' offense slowed down in the second half, but, still managed to put in seven more goals. Daziel in the match, broke the single game record for goals scored in a game with 12. The record was previous held by Claire Wigler who record six goals against Lees-McRae last year. 

Wigler also set a record herself with six assists in the game. The previous mark was four assists set back in 2013. Alysh Kulka moved into second place in assists in a game as she recorded five assists in the game.

Daziel and Wigler also remained at No. 1 and No. 2 in the points per game record books. Daziel recorded 14 points in the game, while Wigler recorded 10 points. 

Natalie Brust led the Trojans' defense with three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Kulka led the way on the draw as she picked up four draw controls. Mount Olive's defense allowed just one shot on goal for the entire game.

The victory secures a No. 2 seed and a first round bye for Mount Olive in the Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse tournament. The Trojans will play in the second semifinal game April 30 at 3:30 p.m. in Gaffney, N.C. against an opponent yet to be determined. The 2016 Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Tournament website can be found here.
