No. 19 Mount Olive Women's Lacrosse Falls To No. 13 Limestone In Conference Carolinas Championship

No. 19 Mount Olive fell to No. 13 Limestone College in the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Championship Sunday afternoon from Gaffney, N.C.

Mount Olive (13-6) struck first as Alysha Kulka knocked a ball loose from Limestone's (15-4) Elizabeth Bunn. Kulka's shot went just wide, but Mount Olive was there to back up the shot as it went out of bounds. Kulka found Daziel as play resumed and she beat the keep and gave Mount Olive the lead.

After a Mount Olive foul, Limestone's Carleigh Davis tied the game with 4:27. It was the final goal of the first half as the game went into the break deadlocked at one.

The Trojans regained the lead with 20:27 left in the second half. Daziel was fouled in the crease and drew a free position shot. Her shot beat the Saints keeper and Mount Olive moved out to a 2-1 lead.

Over six minutes later Limestone tied the game off a free position shot with 14:13 left in the game.

The go ahead goal was found by Limestone with 7:03 left as the Saints put in the final goal of the game.

Mount Olive was able to put up one more shot attempt with 2:33 but the Saints keep picked up the save and the Trojans fell.

Hannah Knight, Gina Fader, and Riann Daziel were all named to the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament team following the game
