Tigerville, S.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse team fell to Limestone College, 16-5, in the Conference Carolinas Tournament championship game on Sunday evening in Tigerville, S.C.

FIRST HALF
- The Trojans scored first just 4:39 into the contest on a goal by senior Caitlin Sabadish off an assist from freshman Amanda Berger that gave UMO a 1-0 lead.
- Limestone responded with a pair of goals to take a 2-1 advantage with 21:47 left in the half.
- The Saints scored five more unanswered goals to take a 7-1 lead over the Trojans with 11:17 remaining in the half.
- UMO scored back-to-back goals to trim the Saints' lead to four at 7-3 with 3:35 left in the opening half.
- Limestone answered with two goals of its own to push its advantage back to six at 9-3 at halftime.
SECOND HALF
- To open the second half, the Saints scored four unanswered goals to push their lead to 10 at 13-3 with 17:35 left to play.
- Senior Saffron Snethen scored twice to cut Limestone's lead to eight at 13-5 with 14:28 remaining in the game.
- Limestone scored three goals to end the contest as the Saints captured the 2017 Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Tournament Championship with the 16-5 win.
KEY STATS
- Snethen led the way for UMO with a pair of goals.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Samantha Thomson (L: 10-5) was credited with the loss, allowing 14 goals and making six saves in just over 46 minutes between the posts.
