MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse team defeated the Hawks of Chowan University 20-5 on Wednesday, February 14, in Conference Carolinas action in Murfreesboro, N.C. Jackie Kaderabek led the Trojans offense with eight points on six goals and two assists.

FIRST HALF

  • Mount Olive wasted no time as the Trojans scored 42 seconds into the first half after Jackie Kaderabek found the back of the net for the first goal of the game with an assist from Michaela Ciciarelli
  • UMO proceeded to score three more goals before Chowan stopped the Mount Olive attack with a goal with 16:18 left in the first half.
  • Kiara Burke started another run for UMO that saw the Trojans score six unanswered goals including three from Burke and three from Kaderabek as Mount Olive led 10-1.
  • Chowan scored the final goal with 11 seconds left in the half as they trailed by eight.

SECOND HALF

  • Mount Olive and Chowan exchanged early goals in the first few minutes of the second half, but it was another big scoring run by the Trojans that sealed the win as the Trojans blasted in seven straight goals pushing their lead to 18-3 with 7:55 left in the game.
  • The cushion was more than enough despite Chowan scoring two goals after the run.
  • Keely Trail and Skye Bradley negated the final goals by the Hawks and kept the 15 goal margin win for the Trojans.
