Women's Lacrosse Drops 11-10 Decision To Catawba

SALISBURY, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse team fell to the Indians of Catawba College 11-10 on Tuesday, February 14, in Conference Carolinas action in Murfreesboro, N.C. Jackie Kaderabek led the Trojans offense with eight points on six goals and two assists.

FIRST HALF

  • Catawba started off the game in control as they scored the game's first goal 56 seconds into the match.
  • Mount Olive then proceeded to go on a four-goal run to take the lead with 24:09 remaining in the half.
  • Catawba answered with two goals and brought to score closer 4-3, but still in favor of UMO.
  • Michaela Ciciarelli put Mount Olive back up by two, but Catawba ended the half on a 4-to-0 run and went into halftime up 7-5.

SECOND HALF

  • Mount Olive continued to try and bring the game back under control but the Indians expanded the lead to as high as 10-6 with 12:33 before the Trojans tried to close the gap.
  • The Trojans would score four goals over the next 12 1/2 minutes but could not complete the comeback.
