Abbott & Miller Earn IWLCA Honor Roll Accolades

Mount Olive, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse team was named an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) 2018 Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad as announced by the organization on Monday, July 23. In addition, two student-athletes, Karlie Abbott and Siena Miller, were named to the IWLCA 2018 Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll.

Three hundred and thirteen schools from across Divisions I, II, III, and NAIA were listed as IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads for the 2017-18 academic year. For teams to qualify for the honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year. The Trojans have been named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Squad four of the seven years the program has been established.

In addition to the teams academic honors, Karlie Abbott and Siena Miller, joined a list of 220 student-athletes from 59 different institutions that were announced as 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll honorees. Student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater to be eligible for this honor. The two Trojans join 10 women's lacrosse alumni in the IWLCA Honor Roll records.
