MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The University of Mount Olive women's lacrosse team dominated the match against the Hawks of Chowan University on Wednesday afternoon in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse action at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex in Mount Olive, N.C.

FIRST HALF

SECOND HALF

  • Mount Olive came out of the intermission to score the first six goals of the second half taking a 19-0 lead by the 43rd minute. Michaud scored on a man-up free position shot, while Dougherty added a goal on an assist from Amber McCarthy and three others, Ann Wray, Nola Wesche, and Skye Bradley (2) scored four unassisted goals.
  • Chowan got on the scoreboard in the 45th minute of action on an unassisted goal to keep from getting shutout by the Trojans.
  • UMO closed out the game with seven more goals to go ahead 26-1 at the final horn. Three unassisted, three assisted and one free position compiled the breakdown of the final seven goals.

KEY STATS

  • Freshman Zoe Dougherty led the Trojan attack with four goals on the day.
  • Another freshman, Meaghan Michaud, was just behind with three goals for a hat trick, while eight other Trojans each scored a pair in the contest.

Mount Olive is back in action on Saturday, February 16, when the Trojans host the Indians of Catawba College in the nonconference action. UMO and CC will meet in the center circle at 3 p.m. for first draw.
