CENTRAL, S.C. – Mount Olive defeated the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University 20-2 on Saturday afternoon in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse action at the LoConte Family Field on the campus of Clemson University in Clemson, S.C.

How It Happened
Play-by-Play

FIRST HALF

  • Mount Olive got the scoring started quickly with Jordan Shughrue scoring less than a minute into action off of a free position shot.
  • Meaghan Michaud put the Trojans ahead by four following a four-minute span where the freshman scored a hat trick.
  • Southern Wesleyan netted their lone goal of the half in the 10th minute of action putting the score at 4-1.
  • The remaining 20 minutes of play were controlled by the Trojans who tallied seven more goals before the halftime horn.
  • Kiara Burke, Tiffany Lee, Kelly Young, Amanda Berger, Kriston Guerra, and Ann Wray all scored their first goals of the game while Michaud added her fourth of the half.

SECOND HALF

  • Mount Olive continued to run away with the game as they scored eight goals to take an 18-goal lead, 19-1, before the Warriors scored their second, and last goal of the game.
  • Jackie Kaderabek, Lee, Burke, Shughrue, Wray, Morgan Nicholson, Guerra, and Amber McCarthy all scored in the 8-0 run by the Trojans through the opening 25 minutes of the half.
  • Lee closed the game with the final score off a free position shot that put the score at 20-2 and improving UMO's record to 5-1, 2-0.
