PEMBROKE, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive wrestling team finished second overall as a team at the Pembroke Classic on Sunday, Nov. 10, in Pembroke, NC. The Trojans had one runner-up, three third-place finishers, one fourth-place, and a fifth-place finisher.
INSIDE THE MEET
The Braves Classic had 25 schools send wrestlers to compete at the 39th Annual Pembroke Classic. Lander University finished first with 118 team points. The University of Mount Olive wrestling team finished second with 110 points and No. 21 UNC Pembroke finished third with 108.5 team points.
Colby Teague had the best performance on the day with a second place finish at 149-pounds. He defeated his first four opponents before falling in the championship bout to a wrestler from Life University. Drew Wiechers (157 lbs), Ross Sealby (197 lbs), and Ogden Atwood (285 lbs) all finished third in their respective weight classes coming back and winning the consolation brackets. Hayden Waddell took fourth falling in the 125 pound consolation championship bout and Dylan Wilman placed fifth in the 133 pound consolation brackets.
