MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive wrestling team fell in their first home dual of the inaugural season to the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College Monday afternoon inside Kornegay Arena. Drew Wiechers picked up a big win pinning the No. 8th Nationally-ranked 157 pound Crusader and improved to 3-2 overall.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
The match started at the 125 weight class and Mount Olive fell behind from the beginning having to forfeit the openning match. Dylan Wilman took the next match for UMO winning by 3-2 decision and earning the Trojans three points. The Crusaders took the next two weight classes of 141 and 149 taking a 18-3 lead in the match score. Drew Wiechers came to the mat next for UMO at the 157 class and scored six points for the Trojans after winning by pin fall taking down the No. 8 ranked 157 Crusader John Dean.
After Wiechers cut the lead in half at 18-9, BAC took the next three matches by pin, major decision, and pin taking a 34-9 advantage. Moving into the final two matches of the dual, Ross Sealby picked up a major decision in the 197 weight class, 9-1. Ogden Atwood in the final match of the afternoon ended the day on a high note winning via pin fall as Mount Olive fell 34-19 to the Crusaders.

COACHES COMMENTS
"I was very proud of our guys today. The starters performed very well and the back-ups stepped up in a big way. We have a long way to go but Ithink we've shown the Conference something from today's match and we are looking forward to 2020," said head coach Jake Patascil.

Mount Olive returns to Kornegay Arena on December 16, as they host their first conference meet against the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College. The meet will start at 1 PM on Monday afternoon.
