GREENVILLE, South Carolina - The South Atlantic Conference Carolinas offices announced Drew Wiechers from the University of Mount Olive as the Wrestler of The Week on Wednesday afternoon.
Wiechers had a great showing against Belmont Abbey on December 16 when he defeated the No. 8 ranked 157 Crusader John Dean by pinfall. At the Jim Crytzer Invitational, the freshman went 2-1 at the 157-pound weight class. En route to his second-place finish, Wiechers defeated two Division III wrestlers, before falling in the finals and scored eight team points helping the Trojans finish sixth overall at the meet.

Wiechers and the Trojans return home to Kornegay Arena Friday against Coker University at 7 p.m.
