Trojans Rally For 1-1 Draw At Barton
Alex Wetherholt hit the game-tying goal late but University of Mount Olive was unable to find the golden goal as the game came to a 1-1 draw in double overtime against Barton College in Wilson, N.C. for Conference Carolinas women's soccer.

Mount Olive (3-2-1 Overall, 2-1-1 Conference Carolinas) was unable to strike first after a hand ball against the Trojans in the box gave Barton (2-2-2, 1-1-2) a penalty kick opportunity in the 32nd minute of the first half. Emily Futral shot to her right and beat the diving Trojan keeper for the game's first goal.

It was not until the second half that the Trojans were able to make a run to tie the game. In the 86th minute a cross was placed in front of Wetherholt after a shot on goal and the Trojan forward for the back of the net. Neither team was able to score as the last four minutes ticked off in regulation. One overtime was not enough nor a second as the game ended in a draw.

Stephanie McCoy picked up four saves in goal for Mount Olive. Nichole Poppe led the team with 11 shots.

Mount Olive remains on the road as the Trojans head to Due West, S.C. to face Erskine College Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
