Former Trojan Lauren Prott Signs Professional Women's Soccer Contract

Former University of Mount Olive women's soccer player Lauren Prott will continue her soccer career at the next level. Prott has signed a professional contract to play for the Vasteras BK30 of the Swedish First Division in Sweden, it was announced February 12 on Prosocceracademy.com.

Prott was a two year starter at defender while at Mount Olive and played in 30 matches during her career.

"I am beyond excited to get this opportunity. I honestly don't know how to express this feeling in words. I have been playing soccer for almost 20 years and have always had the hope of doing something like this, but for it to happen is just pure happiness. All those long days of training, morning conditioning and discovering new limits have led me to this moment" said Prott in a press release on Pro Soccer Consulting by Ryan Grant.

Trojan head women's soccer coach, Reid Clewis talked about Prott and what her signing means for the program.

"Lauren is the type of player that coaches really enjoy working with. She has a great attitude, works hard, and genuinely wants to learn and improve. I think her signing is a byproduct of those attributes and setting a goal and working to accomplish it.

I couldn't be any prouder of her! For our program it goes to show that you can go pro from any level, it's not just top D1 talent that can do it. If you have the correct mindset you can continue to play after you finish here".
