MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - University of Mount Olive women's soccer team topped the Tornado of King University 4-0 in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at Amon Field in Mount Olive, N.C.

Play-by-Play
First Half
- Mount Olive started the game on an interesting note as in the 15th minute Kaylee Mariani took a shot on goal and a deflection off a King defender scored an own goal which gave UMO a 1-0 lead.
- Seventeen minutes later Jordyn Davis recorded her first career goal for the Trojans as Cristina Galvan chipped a ball to a waiting Davis and the freshman put Mount Olive up 2-0.
- The Trojans continued to apply the pressure as only six minutes later Samantha Bearden added her first goal of her Trojan career with a header that just beat a crashing keeper and put UMO up three.
- King recorded one shot before the halftime horn sounded but Mount Olive held onto their three-goal cushion.
Second Half
- UMO came out of the break and wasted no time extending their lead as Jaelyn Brown snuck a goal in the left side of the net and pushed the Trojans out to a 4-0 lead in the 47th minute.
- King only managed four more shots for the remainder of the half as Mount Olive shut down the Tornado offense and closed out the game for the win.
Key Stats
- Kaylee Larson led the team in shots with three while also adding one assist.
- Brown was tied with Larson with three shots and added one of the Trojans three goals.
- Davis and Beardon upon garnering their first career goals scored the other two goals for the Trojans.
- Kendall Blaine (1-1,1-1) had a clean sheet in goal recording seven saves.
